This workout is dedicated to Teegan Austin-Tod Kamzelski, 24, who died Sunday, May 28, 2017.

We first found this workout posted by CrossFit Cadre @crossfit.cadre (Hudson, OH, USA). We later learned that the workout was created by Teegan’s father, Christopher Thompson, who is the former owner of CrossFit 6817 (Austintown, OH, USA).

In an email with WODwell, Christopher told us “Teegan lived to deadlift and he was a quick little runner. His row was spot on for his size. So I incorporated what he loved to do into the workout. He had a strong love for helping people which gave me the idea to put it together as a team. He was all about doing things with team work. He was a very selfless person. ”

Following Teegan’s death, Christopher founded the Teegan Kamzelski Humanitarian Initiative @tk_humanitarian_initiative in his memory, with the goal of suicide awareness and prevention (including through its annual “Hammering Out Suicide” event, featuring the “Teeg” workout as a competition fundraiser
