Tips for Choosing a CrossFit Gym
CrossFit Gyms are not franchises; we are all independently owned and operated Affiliates. Each gym has its own unique personality and vibe. Choose one that fits your personality.
- Check out the programming. Does the facility you are looking at offer diversity in their workouts? We use CrossFit.com, CrossFit Football and our own programming to best fit the needs of our members. We don’t take a “one size fits all” approach.
- Ask what Certifications are held by the Coaches. At CrossFit Peachtree, we are continually attending new Certification courses to ensure we are providing our clients the best coaching possible. CrossFit is a very unique fitness program, so beware of overly bloated lists of qualifications/certifications that are not CrossFit specific. Currently we collectively are certified in the following: Olympic Lifting, Nutrition, Power Lifting, CrossFit Football, CrossFit Kids, Mobility and Recovery.
- Is there a continuing education program for the staff? We work closely with our coaching staff and have monthly continuing education seminars with them.
- Beware of bloated claims of time in the “industry”. Ask how long they have been training CrossFit. You will quickly learn it is a very unique and intense environment that requires a specific education and skill set…being a kickboxing instructor doesn’t translate to being a good CrossFit Coach.
- One of the main components of CrossFit workouts is Olympic Lifting, are any of the coaches certified in Olympic Lifting, CrossFit Football or Power Lifting? At CrossFit Peachtree we have several certified Olympic Lifting, CrossFit Football and Certified Power Lifting coaches. We’re proud to say we’ve learned from the best and bring that to our clients.
- Do they offer educational seminars for members? We regularly host seminars that are free for our members on Nutrition, Olympic Lifting and Mobility & Recovery. We also post daily blog topics on fitness and nutrition.
- Beware of gyms that offer guarantees. Results aren’t guaranteed, they are earned. We will provide you with the tools, the best coaching and a kick ass community. It’s up to you to make the difference in your life.
- The old saying “you get what you pay for” is all too true. Beware of “bargain bin” pricing as you are paying for excellence in coaching and environment. If a facility offers you the opportunity to be the next Chuck Norris, a toaster oven and is the cheapest in town then it might be too good to be true.
