New Shirts!
We finally have some shirt samples on order and are ready to start taking orders for CFPT tshirts! Here is a link to the current logo designs. The turn around time for the orders is about 7 days…he said if we get him orders by Friday, we can get them next week. So, especially for you ladies that would like to fly CFPT colors at the CatFight…now is the time to order!
Here are the shirts and prices we have to offer:
- Gilden tshirts: $20.00; these shirts are standard for guys and also have a girl style, but tend to be the more boxy tshirt (if you have seen me wearing the red trainer shirt, that is the Gilden tshirt).
- Tultex girlie tank top: $22.00; standard boy beater tank top; snug, but comfy fit.
- Tultex girlie tshirt: $22.00; fitted baby tee style, goes past the waist. Comfy fit though sizes run a bit small. I am typically a small/medium and ordered a large in this style.
- American Apparel girlie baby tshirt: $25.00; super soft, sheer tshirt (not so sheer you are showing off the ta’s though). This was my personal favorite.
- Hoodie: $30.00.

FJ, I rocked some greek yogurt with honey, blueberries, and almond slivers, alonjg with a sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast in milk on the way to work, to give me the energy boost I need to honk and flip off my fellow commuters.

I had 4 eggs and a glass of OJ this morning. My magic bullet top apparently stripped out like a mofo and would not blend up my strawberry blissful shake this morning. I’m pretty disappointed.
Sigh … breakfast … irish oatmeal, protein powder, skim milk and nuts. (heheheh) As much as I like the name of my oatmeal … I’m really getting sick of it.
I’ve been on a smoothie kick now that I have a blender that is blonde proof…but Jeff has fallen in love with smoothies and cleaned out my fruit stash last night.

Breakfast = 1 cup of kashi go lean cereal with a sliced banana, 1 tbsp flax seed, 1/2 cup milk.
Snack = Chobani blueberry yogurt w/1 tbsp flax seed.
YUM.
publix sells pretty big bags of frozen fruit…that’s what we use for our smoothies. though, i too have been cleaned out of my fruit stash on an occasional morning

i think the concept is cool, but need to see what the cost is going to be down the road vs. how many people are actually going to use it. i used to use logsitall.com, but they just started charging. i can log my workouts still, but not compare them to anybody, which is why i liked it.

check out beyond the white board FJ. It stomps the junk out of logsitall. The way you add workouts and times is way better – check boxes for Rx’d, and any substitutions are very CLEARLY noted so we can compare to previous workouts and really see improvements.
we are starting to play around with BTWB more now…there are some pretty cool tracking features. it also is an online whiteboard…meaning you can enter your WODs and see how the rest of the gym is doing. for now, it’s free. i have to think if and when they do start charging, it would be minimal.

Bridget and friends – Per the crossfit radio broadcast, beyond the whiteboard is thinking about charging starting in June or July. They said $3 per month.
They wanted to wait until they added more features. They are apparently going add the ability to do things such as: Track your fran progress from one workout to the next and overlay that graph with a graph showing your avergage number of workouts per week.
So sounds like this is the place to be if you are an analytical crossfit addict like myself. $3? Well, i guess that is two hotdogs and two cokes at Costco, but i’m willing to make the sacrifice.

okay, i finally read the info that BTWB had sent me when i signed up as an affiliate. apparently there will be two pricing tiers, one for each of you to pay; one for us to pay for you, which it sounds like would be cheaper.
we would look into doing this and just billing you back directly at the cheaper rate through your auto-pay. only IF there were enough people to make it worth while. i’ll keep you posted on any updates. so…all of you, sign up, play around with it and let me know if this is a tool that you would seriously use and are interested in.

FJ – really depends on what you are looking for. Typically i would recommend a flat bottom shoe, i have those Osiris skater shoes that i really like and are comfy. A lot of CFers wear DC’s:

For running, especially if you have any foot/ankle issues with running, go to Phidipidies (or however you spell it) and they can help you get a good running shoe.
I also just bought a pair of Addidas adiStar oly shoes that i really like, they do make a difference when doing lifts and i was really happy that i had them this weekend:

Dan – I just bought puma H streets. Awesome shoe for crossfit. They are racing flats, the pose guys like em, and they are great for Oly lifting. I also use the vibarm five fingers (so does my bro, aka aquaman aka skuba steve).
The only thing with both types of shoes is that you really cannot run heal striking or it will hurt (especially the vibrams)

Tennis shoes force you on your toes and are squishie. Not good for doing any type of squat for stability and staying on your heels…

Bridget correct me if i am out of line but some of the reasons are as follows:
1.) Better for Oly lifting, more stability, allows you to drive from the heal
2.) Just easier to stay on your heals, as joe said, those big airbags in the heal of most “running” shoes force you onto your toes
3.) Pose running hates shoes with thick heals, as they say it promotes you to run in a way that your body is not naturally designed to (aka on your heals, which leads to all the running injuries that people sustain, knee, shin, heal, low back). There are a ton of Pose videos, you should check em out.

I often hold a debate in my head about which one Scott likes more: Crossfit or Pose Running. I think Pose running just took the lead.
Fj, how about some cross trainers for lifting days and running shoes for running days?? Someone is going to jump in here and recommend espadrilles with a low heel at some point.
Joey, I think there is a video of Gregg Admundsen looking at this workout, seeing that it is a squat snatch, and doing it anyway. But if your knees truly hurt, I am sure we will see it again.

True story: last time I was at the back bar when the chicks dance all over your drinks, there was a stripper who was working crazy pullups into her routine on the upper bar around the ceiling. I asked if she did crossfit, but she said no… I told her to look us up.
So that brings me to my point…if you ever see some hot brunette with huge “assets” trying out bells n balls, you can thank me by buying me a beer.
Maddy, I’ve developed a nice little list of snacks for food brats like myself, too! If you email me, I’ll send em to ya. It took me awhile to get 4 or 5 so I could rotate them out, but I figured out a few staples!
